Service Infromation

Dear Family Life Assembly of God,

Here we are in the month of May and I wanted to give you an update. I am sure that many of us have seen the news and been following our governor. He has relaxed some of the restrictions that he had put into place almost 2 months ago. The governor is trying to open up some places of business, and churches have been included in that for certain counties but with several restrictions.

This last week I met with several pastors from across our state and our district leadership. There was quite the gambit of feelings across the state on what this looks like for each of us. Some were ready to open right away and others are deciding to wait. I also had the opportunity to talk with other pastors in our community to get a feel for what they were thinking also. Again, it went multiple ways with multiple feelings.

The board and I also met to discuss what would be best for our church at this time. After much discussion we have come to the decision to wait until at least June to have in person services. We will continue to do everything online and add a couple of other things. More information will be coming on that. We did not come to this decision lightly. Our main goal is to continue to share the gospel as much as possible but we want to do it in a safe manner.

We have some more mature people in our body and many that work with seniors for their jobs. We want to be good stewards of what God has given us. With the news of cases testing positive growing in both Lancaster County, Saline County and even Seward County we just didn’t feel right of opening back up at this time. We don’t want to put anybody in danger.

I miss the contact of seeing everyone face to face and I am sure that many of you do too. That was another factor in our decision, it would be hard for us to come together and stay 6 feet apart and talk to each other through masks. Many of us are not made that way but that does not mean we can’t communicate with each other. I want to encourage you to reach out to others in our body to just check on them as these are not easy times. But know that we serve an awesome God that loves each of us and that we are not operating out of fear but out of love for each of you.

We will continue with our YouTube videos, which are reaching far beyond what I could have imagined. But that is the way God works. He has given us a new way to do ministry which we can continue even when we get back together. The board and I will get together toward the end of May to reevaluate our options. Also, don’t forget to check out our new website at familylifemilford.com to keep up on events. Please know my heart - we love and miss each one of you but we are excited for what God has in store.

     In the love of Christ,

     Lamoin Lytle
